I earned my B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Iowa with endorsements in K-8 science and social studies. Since earning my degree, I have added endorsements including: Middle School Generalist, 5-12 Biology, 5-12 Chemistry, K-8 Special Education & 5-12 Special Education, 5-8 Mathematics, and K-12 Computer Science. In the summer of 2014 I will finish my coursework at Morningside College to earn a Master of Arts degree in Special Education.

I enjoy playing volleyball and have occasionally done some refereeing for junior high matches.

In my current position, I am able to spend more time working in small groups or one-on-one with students.

I like the small school feeling and the ability to get to know my students. I grew up in Ladora and graduated from HLV and enjoying having classmate's children in my classes.

Hobbies or Special Interests: I truly enjoy the outdoors and what mother nature can provide. I like to hunt and fish with my two sons. I like to work in my garage on projects. The most important thing in life is spending time with my family and traveling with my wife.

What do you enjoy most about your role at HLV?  When I moved to Victor many years ago, I admired the family atmosphere that Victor and the school provides.  I knew then that this was a place that I wanted to call home and raise my family.  I enjoy interacting with students and staff on a daily basis and watching our students grow and prosper.

My co workers are fabulous. I feel like we are a family and can rely on each other when needed. I love my students. We are able to learn a lot in a relaxed atmosphere. I love to see their "lightbulb" moments when they finally catch on to a skill that they have been struggling with.
