November 20, 2020
In response to the Governor's Proclamation on November 16, 2020, South Iowa Cedar League (SICL) administrators adopted the following protocols in effect from November 16 to December 10, 2020. Please support our efforts to follow the new state mandates to the best of our ability. Spectators who do not abide by the protocols will be given one opportunity to follow expectations. If further correction is needed, the spectator in question will be asked to immediately leave school property. If a spectator, at a home or away event, refuses to leave an event when first asked or becomes noncompliant, they will be banned from all school-sponsored events (home and away) for a minimum period of 14 calendar days.
All spectators are required to wear a mask upon entry and in the gym at SICL and non-conference events.
- Spectator Limits:
Each SICL athlete will be issued two passes per event. The athlete is free to distribute these passes however they see fit. The athlete is responsible for keeping track of their passes. Pass holders will be expected to sign in under the name of their designated athlete upon entry. A pass holder will still be expected to pay admission to each event similar to last year.. Admission prices will be $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students. A lost or stolen pass should be reported to their school's Activities Director immediately.
Each game is considered a "separate event" by the state. Following each game, spectators will clear the gym. The next game's spectators will not be allowed to enter the gym until it has been cleared by the previous game's attendance.
Seating at SICL and non-conference events will be limited. Spectators will not be allowed to sit in areas that are marked areas. In addition, spectators will be required to maintain six feet of distance between themselves and other household units. The determination of what constitutes a household unit will be determined by those in the unit. All spectators will be expected to clear the gym after each contest.
- Food and Drink
Schools in the SICL will have various policies in place regarding food and concession stands. Please check with your school's Activities Director for detailed information for each school.
- Live Streaming
Some of the schools in the SICL offer Live Streaming of the event. Please check with your school's Activities Director for the information regarding live streaming at home and away contests.
